BET Awards .

First things first, iactually DID NOT miss the BET Awards this year; even though ishould've SMH! Well anyway, ithink its pretty fair to say that more than 3/4 of BET's Viewers tuned in Last night only to see what type of tribute would be made to Michael Jackson, iknow idid. ihonestly wasn't to interested in the awards show itself, when theirs no good music out; & no interesting artists; your not going to have an interesting award ceremony; thats the way isee it, but anyways ... Jamie Foxx did an OKAY job to say the MOST, his jokes weren't the type of jokes to make you fall out your seat like Mo'Nique's, even though imust admit he did make an appearance in the beginning dressed as Michael from the "Beat It" video. New Editions performance wasn't on point @ all, Ralph Tresvant sounded horrible & ithink they tried too hard to sound like Michael & his bro's, rather than to just sound like NE & sing a Jackson 5 song. iwas a little disappointed with that, but whadever. When they announced that LeBron won the Athlete of the year award, me & everyone else's mouth dropped; we heard all the BOO-ING in the background because people thought Kobe would win, but nah ... lol . Keri Hilson's performance was fine until the end when she started being all extra, it was like SDFU and go backstage already, she was swinging her legs and bugging out & the audience was in crickets; iwas like is she serious? lmao, she kinda made a fool of herself. iguess Ne-Yo decided he should perform without a hat in MJ's honor? lets hope so cause that shit was HORRIBLE, he looks like an alien without a hat. but besides his appearance, his voice is one of the best in the game right now, he really killed that 1st performance. The Bell Biv DeVoe, Guy, &' Keith Sweat performance was cool, igotta HUGE kick outta Keith Sweats voice . Beyonce's performance was SOOO boring mann, iexpected so much from her. she's usually the first performance of the night and she kills it w/ an up tempo joint but idk wdf happened this year, she put the audience in a deep ass coma; & then that big ass thing she was wearing didn't help out too much,
iguess they put it on to wake the audience up, and give her some attention? lol . Ciara's performance was really nice to me, she sounded beautiful and ithink she opened up a lot of peoples eyes like damn, maybe she can sing? why you ask? cause she wasn't on stage shaking her ass and breaking her back like she usually does, A+ Ciara :) . iyawned all through Jay-Z's performance of D.O.A, i'm all for the killing of Auto-Tune, i'm just not feeling that song, sorry "Hova". Tevin Campbell came out of his little shell for 5 mins. on National Television; and he STILL to this day sounds like a little kid, lol . he still got it tho - Trey, Tyrese, & Johnny Gill did a good job as well, Tyrese hasn't performed in so long, iforgot he sang . his voice is just as strong as it was 4-5 years ago . imissed it when Eddie Levert cursed! lol, & The little Baby Boy thing on stage was hot, iwas in my seat like (say ihate you jodi - say ihate you jodi!) & she said it! iwas dying. it was all cool until Ving Rhames showed up acting ignorant, "Guns Is Michael Jackson, Guns is the BET Video Awards" istill want someone to explain to me what the fuck he meant by saying that? once again, the audience was in crickets. all icould do was shake my head. The Young Money Performance was cool, Drake messed up sometime during his verse & so did Baby, but overall it was good . iwas wondering why he sat on that chair the whole performance, but then later he explained that he tore is ACL, so get well soon drizzy! Maxwell's performance was nice as well, he brings back hope to the R&B world . & the Trust performace with Keyshia Cole & Monica was hot, ikinda got the feeling Monica was tryna out do Keyshia though, lol . iMOST DEFINITELY did not expect Janet to show, when the camera's zoomed in on her face we all fell off our seats like oh shit, then it was like aight everybody shut up, we wanna see what she's gonna say; ithink she did a great job, she ddnt make it too long or too short, it was just right. During this time you don't wanna say too much anyway because the tabloids are just looking for something to take & run with. Joe Jackson was their laughing & having a good ole' time, iain't think nothing of it until they revealed that he was their to promote his new record label or group or w|e . all im gonna say is that, that right their is kinda awkward . iexpected SOO much more from the Michael Jackson Tribute performance, since they continued to JAM it in peoples head that they were there to celebrate Michael's life etc. why would they perform such a sad song? like that makes NOO sense . iexpected at least a Beat It performance, since it was such short notice, thriller would've been way to hard to accomplish in 2 1/2 days. but w/e the award show was pretty boring in a whole. hopefully they realize that Mo'Nique deserves a PERMANENT hosting Job . ;-)

R.I.P Michael Jackson .

damn yo, fuck the king of pop; the king of the music industry, the king of the entertainment business period. & he's gone from us in like a SPLIT second, that's beyond ridiculous. icontinuously tell everyone, Michael was the last person on earth that would've thought to die. even though he was 50, he still wasn't old, a person like him should've lived a lot longer, but we all have to go one day, we were gonna have to face his death sooner or later. ijust ddnt think it would be sooner than later . all across the globe people are in shock, ijust drove to Wendy's and about five pple called in on Power 105 sobbing that he was their role model & idol. ijust don't think some people understand the impact this man had on the world . he ddnt only impact the music industry, he was def. One In A Million . idont think were gonna come across someone as powerful as Michael for a long time. he's an icon, a legend, a role model, and a powerful human being. he'll be truly missed . on TMZ, the first website to report his death, they claim that Myspace, Aim (AOL Instant Messenger), and Twitter were all among the websites on the internet that were crashing due to the passing of Michael . people were trying to spread the news, which caused major traffic on these websites and also caused them to run slow. they claim that the last time the internet was full of such traffic, was President Obama's inauguration. speaking of TMZ, they aren't the most reliable news source in the world; but after visiting the website a couple seconds ago, iwas appalled @ what isaw. they CONTINUE to call Micheal, "JACKO" . ifind that shit to be so fucking rude, like are you kidding me? it just goes to show you that people will talk about you even AFTER your dying day . there are numerous amounts of people that are|have talked shit about Micheal Jackson throughout his career, & those same people are the ones sobbing and being all phony about the situation . w/e the case is, this also goes to show that, that guilty conscience you have after someone has died will follow you, another reason why it isn't good to criticize someone's talents, but i'm no saint so w/e. this reminds me of Aaliyah's death, only because these things are so sudden & they catch you off guard man . people die, regardless of what's going on, we all have to face death one day; Micheal's death made me understand that more . man iknow his Funeral is gonna be CRAZYY WILD . He's the first Jackson to die, even before his mom & dad . &' the BET awards are coming up l8ter on this week, iknow they are gonna go INNNNN ; like it would be irrelevant not to . a lot of stories are developing about his death, due to that; this will be my only post on the story . ifelt that ihad to post something about the KING OF POP, just to pay some homage. so R.I.P Micheal Joseph Jackson, well miss you mann .  :'(

Black Eyed Peas scored @ the #1 spot this week like ipredicted . this is their first #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart . Congrats, they deserve it . now ... on the other hand, Pleasure P Debuted @ the #10 spot selling 39,000, HORRIBLE ! BTW if you make it to the top ten selling 39,000 copies in your first week, that shows somethings wrong w/ the music industry . ithink Flo -Rida did better than that by like 5,000 copies, tisk tisk . well Pleasure gets a Pass since he is now a solo artist, and this is his first album . Pretty Ricky's first album ddnt do to well, it Debuted at #16, but then they came back with their sophomore album and Debuted @ #1 . Hopefully something good is in store for Pleasure in the coming years . ido wish him luck even though iam not the biggest fan of his, ithink he has a lot of talent that some others in this industry do not have . cough cough CASSIE, cough cough SOULJA BOY .

the RUNDOWN .

FINALLY, a new episode of Runs House . this is one of my favs. this show can never get cancelled, i'd be devastated . the new season premiered Monday, June 15th . which was the day before my Geometry regents, itook like an hour break when Runs House came on . Runs House isn't funny, actually to me there isn't anything in particular about the show that attracts me to it, ijust think its a poppin' program altogether . it is a popular show as well cause it was all over the radio and web. the day it came on, of course they couldn't let the whole JoJo and drugs thing go, but idt they're gonna touch on that this season anyway . BTW they're also filming a new season of Daddy's Girls, they making $$ over there mann . Eminem's album dropped a couple weeks ago, iddnt even bother listening cause i'm not an Eminem fan, but the fact that he sold over 600,000 units in his first week definitely goes to show anyone can still sell records, you just need a strong and loyal fan base, and good music . so lets not touch upon the Fantasy Ride flops, lol . he still going strong too, his album was pushed back only one spot this week by The Dave Matthews Band, idt his album is moving out of the Top 10 for a while, its gonna be like another Hannah Montana album on the charts . The Black Eyed Peas dropped there album as well, & according to Billboard, they are poised for the #1 spot . Pleasure P dropped his debut during the same week, ihope his #'s won't be disappointing, but he's not beating the BEP's . it`ll be interesting to see how he does w/ out Pretty Ricky as well, seeing that he made the group what they were . oh & Trey Songz going in on R. Kelly? the nigga is without a doubt a CREEP but damn, does anybody have respect for those who came before them now a days ? Jim Jones goin @ Jay-Z ; trey Songz @ R. Kelly, lets hope Keyshia doesn't try to go @ Mary . & lmao @ Mariah Carey's new single "Obsessed", guess who thats directed to ? ;-) .

Minnesota .

so iknow ihavent updated my blog inna while, but . . . IM FUCKING' BACK .  iwent on a family trip to Minnesota. my uncle got married, so you know how that goes. iknow it sounds like a boring ass place, same thing isaid BEFORE igot there. living in New York, when igot there the air felt like 200% less polluted; lol . its a reele nice place, fuck that - IT$ A BEAUTIFUL PLACE . like isaid before, ilive in New York, everything is very close together, but in Minnesota its all so spread out . idk why, but iLOVE big areas . flew on a new airline as well, called Sun Country, anybody ever heard of that? me niether . anyways, if your not familiar, Minnesota has the BIGGEST mall in the United States, its called The Mall Of America, go figure? iwas like hmm, okay a big mall? but seriously what mall you know has an amusement park inside of it ? exactly look @ that shit .
yeah, thats  BIG ASS MALL . iddnt even visit like 1/4 of it, and we went there three times during our stay . ipeeped the Burberry store, Apple Store, Old Navy, Pac Sun, Finish Line, Foot Locker, & some other shit icant remember right now . of course ipeeped the food court, like DUH, BTW that shit is like heaven :-) loll . oh & ifinally peeped a DQ store, since we have like NONE in New York; TF is up w| that? anybody know a secret location or summin? hit me up ;-) while my lil' cousins and sisters were on all those rides you see above, me and my cousins went to see the Hangover, THAT FUCKING' MOVIE IS THE BUSINESS YOOO . you wont go like a minute without laughing . its like stupid comedy, the movie is so retarded, thats what makes it so funny . irecommend EVERYBODY check that shit out . now to the wedding, it was def. poppin - igot to see how Minnesota pple party, they are so funny; like deadass the wedding should've been taped . ilaughed the whole night . the Hotel was poppin' too . payed that jacuzzi a visit ;-) oh & the weather? it was on point . it ddnt rain once while we were out there . then it was time to leave. idef. ddnt wanna go; igot away from everything for so long, igot used to it . by the time igot home, the airport was like 5,000x more crowded in NY @ like 11:00 . wdf?
even though iloved Minnesota, it made me realize like damn, there really is no place like New York . no place to shop, to hang, to chill, idk about ya`ll but icouldn't go to NYC and do everything in one day . thats the beauty of it, you can never get bored out here . which is why icouldn't see myself living anywhere else, the big apple is where its at . BUT on the other hand iwill be making another trip to Minnesota, ihave to, ienjoyed myself so much, a 2nd trip is a must . going there and being able to say ienjoyed myself made me more open to new places . everyone says they go to Miami, or Cali, or Las Vegas or whatever, but the truth is you could def. have fun in more unrural places like Minneapolis. im not sayin' cancel your trip to Florida, but don't ever turn down a trip to Minnesota, you WON'T regret it .

MTV 5/31

So, if you dont watch this show, your either 1.) hiding under a rock, or 2.) Blind in both eyes. The Hills is one of the most watched shows on MTV, idont have any evidence but its obvious from the big Finale events, its a pretty important program. Anyways, the last episode was a bit of a Blur. Heidi and Spencer get married thats not to much of a surprise. This was also Lauren's FINAL season. now, why wouldn't they just say the hills is over? Lauren MADE the hills, so how can you go on without her? well there was a surprise at the end of the Final Episode. Kristen Cavallari, who is Lauren's long time enemy, rival w/e is the NEW star of The Hills. ithought that was so disrespectful on so many levels, because nobody even talks to Kristen, except for like Heidi? who has been desperately trying to get all of her friends back *side eye*, but as soon as Lauren leaves Kristen enters, Lmao @ that, Kristen should Honestly feel like a liability. Besides her loud mouth, nobody payed her to much attention cause . . . . nobody reele cares, but the new season coming up looks reele interesting. Since Jade (Broady's GF) and Kristen look like they are new best friends, will they gang up on Audrina? poor girl she honestly has like no back bone, lol. iguess Kristen was like the last option for the people over @ MTV, since Whitney left two seasons ago, now Laurens gone; they need some real drama & they knew she'd bring it. hopefully people just dont H8 her as much as they hate spencer, ;-)

Now, the 09’ MTV Movie Awards, was just ridiculous. iguess people do anything for Ratings? ;-p anyways, they cursed WAYY WAYY WAYY to many times during the show, if icounted the amount of times idropped my mouth I’d be here all day. Im not trying to imply that im a goody two shoes, but like damn little kids do watch MTV nowadays, you cant just be blurting out shit like “ its my dick in a box “ honestly what was that? iddnt find any amusement in it at all, as a matter of fact all me and my cousin did during the whole program was shake our heads. It just shows you how times have REALLY changed. Now, the Eminem thing; that was VIOLATION TO THE 100,000 power. iddnt catch it on TV due to other important things, but isaw a video on necolebitchie.com. idk if they planned that? if they planned it specifically on Eminem or whadever? But thers certain things you just don’t do. The guys ass was LITERALLY IN/ON Em’s face. & then he’s joking like “hey lets go to my hotel room“ man that was a neck. Aaliyah .

she's probably one of the most influential people in my life. she's had a big impact on my life, and continues to. im talking about Aaliyah (The Highest Most Exalted One) she's influenced and inspired me in so many ways icant fathom it myself. most people can say "she helped me with singing" or "she helped me with dancing" or "she taught me to stay true to myself". Aaliyah influenced me in a different kind of way that honestly does scare me. For example, i'd be doing some homework, and if iget tired i'll close the book & put it away, then igo "What would Aaliyah have done?" & i'd finish my homework. (BTW she graduated from a performing arts HS w/ a 4.0 GPA) not many people can say that about a famous person, this is one of the reasons why iadmire her in such a way. she wasent only an iconic figure in the entertainment business, but she carried herself in a classy - honorable way throughout her personal life; she was the ideal child two parents dream of. even though inever got to meet her, ifeel like iwas so blessed to even know who she was. you don't come across people like Aaliyah, let alone a Famous person. she never let fame, or success give her a big head & she stayed true to her style, and sound of music. to this day, nobody in the music industry has said anything derogatory about Aaliyah, why you ask? not only because they just cant find anything to say, but also because she never gave anyone a reason to complain about her. people like to say "We'll she wasen't the best" ... "She wasent that Great" ... to me none of that even matters. ithink we can all agree that she ddnt achieve all the mainstream success that most people do, but the fact that she ddnt rush her career and she let it all fall into place just gives me another reason to talk about her. she stayed true to her sound and people became more familiar with Aaliyah, instead of saying "damn im sick of Aaliyah" . throughout 1998-2001 she had mainstream on LOCK, she was finally receiving the success she should've been granted years ago & then she was taken from us so abruptly. people still try to destroy her name, but as she said it comes with the territory, the more your name gets out there; the more people are gonna talk. the only thing that bothers me is the fact that she isn't here to defend herself, she cant be the artist we all knew she was going to be; we can only look at the artist who she was. but honestly, ido take comfort in knowing that Aaliyah still is one of the most Famous R&B singers to date, she did so much in 7 years, that people still cant accomplish in a lifetime. she had TWO DOUBLE platinum albums before she even graduated High School, and still managed to graduate with a 100% avg. to me, thats probably one of the most honorable achievements ihave ever heard from an artist. she is definitely someone EVERYONE can gain something from. ican sit here for days and discuss all the reasons why she is the IDEAL WOMAN, but it wouldn't change the fact that she's gone. since she is very important in my life, ifelt i'd share it with you guys. just a few collectives below ....

iwoke up today fucked up; ifeel like everything in my life was going smooth shit was on track & then BOOM, somebody else gotta fuck my world up, & yes its that easy . tryna do my best & brush it off but ifeel like its poking @ my brain, icant get over it. w/e - anyway, last saturday ihad one of those "Family Dinners" and guess who shows up? this guy from Naughty By Nature .

his name is Vin Rock or something like that? idk, anyways he showed up & im like, okay? then he goes "ilive around the corner" blah blah & iput the pieces together obviously someone in my family had connection w/ him so he stopped by. he's a really cool dude, iknow you'd be expecting it to be a groupie scene in the house since he was from my parents generation, but it wasen't like that @ all, iddnt hear him utter a single word about his group members, or the music industry. he talked about the reg. things middle class pple talk about like taxes, mortgage, etc. etc. goes to show you that this recession affects EVERYONE. ialso overheard them talking about the North American Currency. iknow it sounds weird but did you know that they're trying to band the United States, Mexico, & Canada all into one currency? (that means we'd all share the same $) ihad no idea but it has already been done in Europe where they share the "Euro". and other countries are following behind and once they get it started the whole WORLD will have ONE currency? it might not sound like anything to you, but the thought of that is so disturbing. the United States is still worth a lot of $ even though we have our economic issues, this means that the less wealthy people from Mexico, or Africa, or wherever are gonna be worth just as much as we are in the blink of an eye. Mexicans work hard, but my mother busts her a** @ work five days a week along w/ her overtime. ican see the world going under already, its crazy how things like this can slide under our radar; but when it comes to light, people are gonna bug out. ibet only a few hundred people know about this and the other hundred don't even understand it, its these types of decisions that fuck up the world as a WHOLE and destroy the lives of working class citizens. imean but who am i to talk? im just a kid right? well anyway, heres a lil' clip of some guy on the news discussing the matter; if you want to look more into it just google " North American Currency " .

iknow i've been doing a lot of album reviews lately but this will probably be my last for now; (maybe i'll do chrisette michelle since pple have been pestering me to listen) anyways, Fantasy Ride is Ciara's Junior effort in the music biz, or should ijust say her 3rd album. iwas routing for Ciara ireally was, i'll be honest though, iwasent to much of a fan until just recently, isearched her name and just got a little more interested. this album came in @ #3 on the charts falling two spots behind Chrisette Michelle's Epiphany & one spot behind Miley Cyrus. compared to her previous efforts, regretfully ihave to say this thrid album is indeed a flop. her debut album Goodies opened up @ #3 on the Billboard 200 as well, but sold over 125k in its first week. her sophomore album Evolution opened up @ #1 on both the R&B charts & the Billboard 200, selling over 330k in its first week! c'mon ciara fans where ya'll @? shes been on numerous magazine covers, did plenty of appearances, and even has about 20,000 mini-commercials on MTV playing as ispeak, seeing that the fans went ballistic when this album was getting really bad reviews, they didnt do anything about it, her album barely sold 81k in its first week, for Ciara's career, thats terrible. but this album to me isn't as bad as others might consider it to be, its very up-tempo but thats the Ciara we've known for years. the album has maybe one to four slow songs tops. the more notable slow songs are Never Ever, & Lovers Thing. the album artwork is where ihave to put my foot down, ithink Ciara tried to hard to make it as creative as possible, making the pictures look more on the Tacky side, than on the creative side. the cornrows do not rock with me @ ALL, and shes been getting a lot of slack for jacking beyonce's style. say what you want, Ciara's album Fantasy Ride is a big disappointment for fans all over the world. in my opinion, its a 2.5 out of 5, all elements included (artwork, creativity, singing, style, etc.)

She opens up w/ a Raunchy Intro, i'm guessing she's just getting some stuff off her chest. from there its like buckle your seat belts. beginning to end, this album is absolutely amazing. iremember when it came out, idid so much promotion for her in school; told everyone to buy her album. (even though idoubt anyone did, lol) her chemistry w/ Polo Da Don & Timbaland is amazing, cause the album just speaks for itself. another reason why ithink igot into this album so much is because musically, Keri reminds me of Aaliyah. both of them had an immeasurable creativity level, and if you listen to Keri's album, it sounds nothing like what any other Female R&B/Pop artist is putting out there now. Heres a few of my Top tracks from the album . . .



Get Your Money Up- this song is a duet w/ both Keri & Keyshia; and also Trina who has a small part. this song didn't grab me like some other tracks did, but after ilistened to the whole thing, it was on repeat for a while. ithink this should be the next single, it is somewhat of a "Woman's Anthem" as fellow bloggers call it.

Slow Dance- this track was produced by some dudes named Royal Court and Timbaland. it may throw you off, since the previous songs are very Up-Tempo, but if you listen you will definitely be hooked. it shows Keri's versatility as an artist, and that she isn't a "Bubblegum Act" .

Intuition- iheard this track a while before the album was released, and iwas hoping it made the cut, to my surprise it did. this song is bananas; she speaks about a Woman's Intuition, discussing how she has a feeling she'll be single soon. the beat is poppin as well, def. a ML!

How Does It Feel- this song is like damn Keri! did you have to? she comes off very aggressive on this song, discussing how if the tables were turned, how would you feel? the chorus is SOOOO catchy. ihave nothing else to say but MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN!

Alienated- icant put this song in a category, the beat makes it sound up-tempo, but Keri's voice & the lyrics make the song sound slow. the beat is dreamy like, and she speaks about a lost relationship. iwas hooked immediately, and iguarantee you will be after hearing this song. another ML!

Where Did He Go?- this song leaked so long ago, along w/ a few other tracks that were supposed to make the album. listen to Keri's voice in this one, she just puts it all out there. its such a nice song, its an addiction for me, it never gets old.

Keri's album is definitely a 4 out of 5, her album is one of the closest things to perfect. arguably one of the BEST in 09' from a Female R&B/Pop artist. if you haven't yet, buy a copy, ipromise you'll get your moneys worth.

FIAD .



ialways wanted to give this album a review, just never got to it. iknow im def. like a month l8, but anyways . . . "Forever In A Day" is the sophomore album for the boys of Day26. if you watched the latest season, the boys constantly fought about what direction they thought the album should go in. Que, Mike, & Rob wanted the up-tempo songs; while Will & Brian wanted "Baby Makers". it seems like they came to some sort of agreement, but ihave to say the slow songs are arguably the best ones. here are my Highlighted tracks from the album . . .

Truth Is A Lie- iheard this track a few weeks before the album released, imust say ihad it on heavy rotation. from the beginning the beat automatically catches your attention, and by the time you get to the chorus, its a wrap; you just have to listen to the whole song. def. a BANGER.

Bi-Polar- iremember first hearing this song on someone else's blog, ididnt even give it the time of day. honestly, the only way you'll probably get into this song is by listening to the WHOLE thing. it doesn't grab you at the beginning, but by the end you'll end up repeating it @ least once more ;-)

So Good- you've probably heard this song plenty of times while watching MTB4. there isn't anything to really say besides the fact that this song is POPPIN. (ML)!

the album has a few more really good tracks, but these are my top 3. if you can, support them by buying this album; but only if your into that slow R&B stuff, if not this album wont really do you any good. in my opinion "FIAD" gets a 3.5 out of 5.

Remembering . . .

imma just get too the point, that in my head sh* is whack. iswear ideadass be forgetting ihave a blog. if anybody actually does read this daily; lol my apologies. anyway, iwas sick all weekend; it blew mines x100,000. w/e this weekend is gonna be poppin. i've been tryna decide on weather ishould work in the city again this summer, or just get a local job. im drifting towards the local thing, seeing that the MTA is going down the drain. idk about anyone else; but irefuse to pay anymore than 2.00 $ fare (i'll have to obviously) buh you get the point. ialso been getting geared up for these regents, and enjoying w/e good weather we actually do have. idownloaded Ciara's new album "Fantasy Ride", so far its been getting HORRIBLE reviews. my personal opinion, ithink it could've been better, but for the most part it actually is good. so iguess that means its "AIGHT?" 3 stars? w/e, ijust hope she doesnt flop. even though she aint the G.O.A.T she does have more talent then some artists now-a-days . . . COUGH! & if she does sell more than 94,000 in her first week all this hype about her & keri can die out. man . . . wasgood w/ all these nude pics of these celebrities? dumb asses. igotta start networking for this blog, iwill eventually ;-) .
